On this day...

On this day...

I Prasie and Thank the good Lord for His mercies and grace thus far in my life,

For extending my little life a year longer,

For keeping me in His holy presence and preserving me from harm, despite my faults,

I am grateful for the people around me -- my family, my friends, the people that makes my life beautiful; that makes me beautiful,

For i once heard, "you are what you are by the views and reflections of the people around you."

For without them laughing at my jokes, i wouldn't be funny;

For without them actually taking time to listen to me, i wouldn't take effort in speaking edifying words,

For without them growing a tolerance towards extreme loudness, i woundn't be as loud as i am today,

For without them who constantly come to my blog and read and comment, i woundn't be a blooger as you see me today...

And for without them who empatize with me and my shortcomings; them who never gave up on me, i wouldn't be who i am today,

Oh! How true it is...

...

On this day,

I want to live to my utmost ability, to the fullness of my capacity, never letting a single moment go by meaninglessly.

My Birthday Wishlist. come see. come see. =D (update 2)

[update 3] - 23/9/09

[update 4] - 27/9/09

Hey guys, for those of you who don't know, or know but make dunno, my birthday is just around the corner.
It's eleven days away.

So, now you all know. =D

Every year when it is my birthday, i get so many so many SMSs and greetings from all over - mostly online. Some good friends call me up. Makes me feel so important like im the King of the day! But at the end of the day, the King oso will have to reply the so many so many SMSs because it would be awfully rude not to.

And there you have it, the good and not-so-goodness of birthdays.

Oh, did i mention these messages endlessly remind you that you're a year older? (but not necesserily wiser?) XD XD XD

Anyway, ever since my late Mummy entered glory, i have seemed to grow out of being "overly enthusiastic" about birthdays like i used to. Not because i am older - the kid in my is very, very much alive and kicking; i assure you that - but perhaps it isn't that much funn already, now that Mummy isn't here anymore?

Plus the fact that i don't drink and smoke, it makes it abit discomforting for me to be celebrated at adult-ish places for my birthday. You know how it is as you get older, and legally legal -- people will tend to celebrate birthdays at clubs, or dinner, then clubbing, or the sort with FLAMING LAMBORGINI and stuff... Haha. Cool la. But just not my cuppa tea.

For me, it'll just be a nice dinner at a nice restaurant with nice music, nice ambience, nice food, and of course, nicee people. =DD

And for this year, i thought i'd try something different. I know i may get myself into unnecessary attention for this, but what the heck - it's my birthday! haha

This year, instead of waiting for peoples' presents; or in some years HOPING for peoples' presents, i thought it would be cheecky more effective to list out what i want than wait for presents, than risk ending up with things that i don't really need.

Here's it -- my birthday wish list:

"Waa..... Like SO MANY things right this fella...?!!", you might be thinking.

Well, check check, its my birthday! I kinda sorta hav the right to be King of the Day. (^_")

...

NOTE: This is just some crazy idea that's in my head for as long as i can remember, so i thought, since im not getting any younger, i might as well give it a shot! Items on my birthday list are just items, you are NOT OBLIGATED to buy them for me.

Nevertheless, like they say in Malay, "Rezeki jangan ditolak", which loosely translates to never decline an opportunity, should you have the urge feel like getting me those items mentioned, and IT IS WITHIN YOUR BUDGET, then by all means, please.

However, i am also NOT OBLIGATED to return your favor (what ever it may be in this context), should you decide to get me something from the list. You can, in your time, make a list like this one notify me, and when the time comes, i'll do my best to see whether or not it is WITHIN MY BUDGET.

=))

Kindly drop me a line on Facebook or email me ( engsoontanm@yahoo.com ) should you want to get something, k? Just so that nobody gets me the same stuffs...

Thanks again! (^_")

psss. i know, depending on the situation, i may or may not get what i listed out. But a wise man once said:
If you ask, the answer may be yes, or may be no.

But, if you don't ask, the answers is surely no.

I am asking.

Astronaut / Can or Not?

This post is in conjunction with Merdeka, but i decided to post it on Malaysia Day, 16th September... Yes, 52 years on, Malaysia still seems to be following Singapore. Sigh.

This is a story i got from here. For your information, i share this post for ALL Malaysians to read...

Can or Not Naut Dr Sheik Dari Malaysia

PEGGY WINSTON : That’s the Great Wall Of China

DR SHEIK : Oh ya ke ? Apakah pula benda yang tajam itu ?

PEGGY WINSTON : That’s Eifel Towers. Whats that square down there in Malaysia.

DR SHEIK : itulah Dataran Putrajaya !! Sambil menyentuh rambutnya dengan semangat membara.

PEGGY WINSTON : Whats the small little spots down there ?

DR SHEIK : Oh that’s the BAR COUNCIL protesting about our Malaysian Judiciary. Dalam hatinya DR SHEIK berkata itu Mat Salleh belum pernah lihat ular besar berak.

PEGGY WINSTON : Saya berasa penat hendak minum

DR SHEIK : KL, WE HAVE A PROBLEM !

Syed Albar : Whats the problem ?

DR SHEIK : Enjin kita rosak

Syed Albar : You buat satu pusinganlah

DR SHEIK : Ini bukan BBC interview you jangan pusing – pusing lah.

Dr Ronnie : Look whats that? Looks like a flying saucer. They shoot our engine What should we do ?

Dr Yuri : Oh my god that’s ET. We should blast them off !!!

Dr Ronnie : Niama lah you lah ORDER all the enjin sparepart from CHINA. See now the enjin cannot tahan the E.T. missiles.

Dr Yuri : Cheap Mah !

Dr Ronnie : Cheap thing no good. Good things no cheap.

E.T> I come to abduct you all hahaahahaaa !!!

ET Menangkap semua crew 16 kakitangan KE PLANET ZION.

ET > Why you want 7 % discount ?

Dr Sheik : Sebab saya bumiputra

ET > Sini bukan BUMI, sini ZION, hanya ZIONPUTRA sahaja boleh beli DENGAN DISCOUNT SPECIAL.

Dr Sheik : Thats not Fair

ET > Who cares ?

Dr Lee : Saya mahu beli, beli malaysia no discount, happy valley so expensive, Malaysia also i got non bumi price. I buy HERE buy malaysia, anywhere also same lah... SAYA PALING UNTUNG !!!

...

The moral of the story of Astronaut is even when you are oppressed, you learn that good life is earned by your hard and honest work. You will find life is hard outside the world if you depend on the Government’s spoonfeed.

LIFE IS EASY IF YOU WORK HARD AND HONEST AND YOU WILL HAVE NO FEAR.

THE END

090909

It's 09/09/09

Have a superb day people!

Watch out for what's gonna happen at 9:09 pm on 09/09/09, TONIGHT.

WATCH OUT!! XD

...

UPDATE: Haaa. Nothing was supposed to happen here. Its what happened for you at precisely 9:09 pm was what i was referring to. It could have been that exactly at 9:09 pm, on 09/09/09, you:

  • Made a new friend.
  • Shared a lovely conversation with your loved ones.
  • Continued to breathe because God preserved your life.
and anything else that you think is memorable and meaningful.

The sky's the limit!

.
.
.

The question is, do we really need a special moment like 9:09pm, 09/09/09 for us to do something special in life?
If you look closely, there is never an ordinary moment in life.

Rainy Days or Sunny Days

Did you notice, when you last walked by a Giordano retail outlet, their advertisment for their branded umbrellas?

While i was having a short vacation up North with my family at my aunts place, we had time to do some shopping. =D

Then i saw this at Giordano, Alor Star Mall. It made my laugh so hard, other customers nearby looked strangely at me. XD

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

At first i didn't understand what it meant. So a quick hello and question to the sales girl made it all crystal clear.

She replied:

"If outside RAINING, sell to you at RM19. If outside NO RAINING, sell at RM29. "

Then she adds:

"If you really want, i sell to you RM19 oso can wan..." *i swear she winked at me*
(oh, it was bright and sunny outside, btw... LOL)

Really peculiar.

It's either a whacky advertising gimmick or the people at Giordano really have a wicked sense of humour.

LOL

For SELA.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Just look and tell me whats wrong with the picture?

No prizes for correct answers.

=D

This was taken just opposite of where i live. Apparently the owner of the vehicle needed some spare cash and decided to sell off the car. Too bad the sign on top of the car fails to convey the message that this vehicle is to be sold.

No wonder it's been there growing moss for aeons.

And the sign has been there for as long as the car has. Malaysian SO BAD command of English meh? Sumore the Gov wants to switch back into teaching Science and Math in Bahasa Malaysia. Just imagine how the future generations will spell SALE?

SEAL, perhaps.

O.o

...

Quickie:

  • Sory for the delay in some postings, this weekend is sorta like a "warzone" for me...
  • There's this wedding on Sunday at which i will be performing a song item with my church friends.
  • My sis is part of the wedding as a flower girl (for the first time ever, and boy, is she excited!).
  • And as such, she wil have to go for dress fitting tmr and i wil be the dutiful chauffer. 0.o
  • Tmr isnt the best time to be chauffering my dear sister, cuz i have to be in UKM in the evening for a meeting.
  • And not to mention, my closest most bestest mate is flying off to UK on Monday -- wee hours of the morning. Aiyoh.
  • So Drama.
  • Will have to split myself for so many things. wootz!
Be back soon!

The APPALING Reply

From my Merdeka Day post, you may have noticed i mentioned about the "Cow-Head Protest" incident in front of the Selangor State office. Just now, while i browsed through Malaysia Today, i came upon this reply from our very own Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein.

The Home Minister not only defended the protesters, but also JUSTIFIED their actions of stepping and spitting on the cow head in the protest which took happened last Friday.
The Home Minister today defended and justified last Friday's cow-head demonstration after meeting with Malay-Muslim representatives of Shah Alam's Section 23 at his office here today.
Reason being:
They felt victimised and feel that there is another valid explanation on their part. There was no intention on their part to cause racial divide. They, the organisers, who are sitting left and right of me, didn’t even know that somebody was going to bring the head of the cow during that demonstration.” he said.
This is ridiculous.

Just because the organizers didn't know that a cow head was going to "appear" at the protest, cannot be an excuse reason to justify what happened.

Why all of a sudden, the revered organizers, who gave astoundingly ridiculous (and quite seditious, might i add) speeches, couldn't have stopped the 'someone' who brought the cow head into the protest? They were the ORGANIZERS. What ever happens, will be on their necks. And they have the biggest say in the protest. And it was supposed to be a "peaceful" protest. What ever that was suppose to mean.

Photo from here.

Unless the organizers themselves arranged for the cow head to "appear", they would have commented and condemded it the moment they saw it brought into the protest. They certiantly wouldn't have stepped, spat, or even posed with one leg on the cow head for the camera. Unless the organizers themsleves have got it all planned out, right from the start.

So, common sense dictates, if they were sensible leaders, they wouldn't have let the "cow head" incident happen. Unless you are a lembu by nature, you would understand what i mean.

But the most appalling statement in the article must be:
Hishammuddin told reporters that the police allowed the demonstrators to proceed because the numbers of protestors were small.
So, does that mean a small group of virtually harmless women, children, and old people and everyone else who made up a Candle Light Vigil for the ISA detainees were proven MORE DANGEROUS than a small group of mostly male protesters (who seemed upset because "they felt victimized") who spat and stepped on a cow head in a protest about relocating a Hindu temple?

Well, the FRU did sweep up people at the vigil, ya' know.

Clearly, 52 years is still not adequate for us Malaysians to know that the cow is a sacred animal according to the Hindus.

Either that, or there is something really wrong with this country.

...

Don't just take my word for it. Read it Hisham defends cow-head protestors.
