HAPPY 52nd MERDEKA MALAYSIA!!!
For all you have been thru;
for the good times and bad times;
the Communist attacks;
the economic downturns;
for the elections won;
for the riots held;
for the political will enforced...
And for all the other things, too many to mention...
Too bad.
We've come to this. Too bad we had to mark this year's Merdeka with racist sentiments flung around over the relocation of an Indian temple to an area with majority Malay-Muslim population. tsk tsk tsk.
Big huu haah there.
Uncle Zee even wrote about it here. He hope it wouldn't be another brewing May 13th. T_T
A Malay daily wrote this article. It somehow didn't fully report on what actually happened, which was, in fact, all caught on VIDEO, courtesy of MalaysiaKini.

Looks like we now have to change the Malay idiom, "Gajah sama gajah berlawan, pelanduk mati di tengah-tengah" to:
No matter how evident the "untruthful", "incomplete", or "report-only-for-my-benefit" style of writing in that local press, we will still celebrate our nation's 52nd Independence with pride and glory.
Just on a smaller scale this time, at a venue with limited space -- not because low budget, but because of another national joke: Influenze A(H1N1).
Now DON'T even get me started on that one! (at least, not yet)

"Kerajaan 52 tahun dengan Kerajaan 1 tahun 8 bulan berlawanan,(please don't quote me... =P)
