Good help is hard to find...

... but i think i may have just found the help i need. =)

First of all, thank you all for your support by not throwing shoes at me for being a hyper fan of Adam Lambert. In the words of Showeii, "i cant stop lamberting!"... He is just the man lah, so to speak. But its time to shake of the Adam magic and move onto some good news.

Anyone saw stars and went @_@ ?? LOLx

Okay, okay, enough Adam Lambert. =D

Don't you find that good help is so difficult to come by these days? Sometimes, they never do? And when you find yourself in a sticky situation, you hear yourself repeating the popular line usd by villains when things dont go their way, "If you want to get things done, DO IT YOURSELF!"?

Well, its not all true you know. A few days ago, i was at Low Yat, trying to get my friend's DELL laptop fixed. It had the blue scren problem and has been out of use for the past few weeks. All that time, it sat in my room, while i was looking for some good help to fix it. Good help is hard to find.

When it comes to PC related stuff, you need to have a 'contact', someone you know personally, or someone introduced to you by a close friend. Either that, or you can go to Low Yat and get ripped off. At your best, avoid Pakistan shops, they slaughter very well.

You need to know SOMEONE. So, I went back to my roommate's uncle. He was busy and couldn't meet me. But it turns out, he knew a friend, Mr. Lim, who was very kind to invote me over to his office in Maluri and had a look at the Dell. "Trouble solved", i thought.

Mr. Lim could not repair it because he did not have spare parts. Turn out, he knows some people, Wiliam and Ah Han, from PC 3 (Lvl 4) in Low Yat, who could help me. Now i KNOW how to look for in Low Yat, rather than like previous times, wander aimlessly and eventually settling for the shop which had people who 'looked decent and well'. (YEa, like THAT works in a place like Low Yat... @_@)

Went there, found Ah Han, but was utterly disappointed. Not only was he unable to help me; he sorta refused to help me. Apparently, his shop doesn't do back up and all the thing i needed help with. There i was in Low Yat, wandering aimlessly, looking for the shop with 'decent and well looking' people. Back to square one.

Then i remembered about a shop where my friend used to work at, but no longer now - Prestige IT, Level 3. I gave it a shot. I threw his name to the people there to show i actually knew someone. LOL. The results were amazing. Suddenly we were like friends with 10 years of friendship. =P

Oscar Access (J in light cyan) and Prestige IT

Met this new guy, Pi, short for Fridaus. Told him my problem that needed fixing (this is like the 7th time i repeated the same thing. T_T) and he offered some very good input. He even recommended me to the shop next door, his partner in crime, to fix the pc. Very high recommendation sumore.

I had nothing to lose. Next door, was a simple shop -- Oscar Access-- which looks abit like shop which sold 2nd hand PCs, etc. But, appearance can be deceiving, no? And it turns out, that its true when they say that 1st impressions are often wrong. Pi's friend, named J (i just dont get people with peculiar nicknames.. LOL) greeted me and i repeated my predicament again, in full passion, for the eight time. XD

He spoke in a monotonous tone and hardly has eye contact with you -- he was staring staright at somewhere, but not at me. He seemed like he didnt care, very chin chai liddat. But he was calm, and kind too. It took me awhile to realize that it was his personality. And as soon as i saw past that, i felt like ive met a person with a golden heart.

There was a feeling of security and trust in every word he said. I have never felt so relax and safe (as the feeling of not thinking that you MIGHT be ripped off) in Low Yat. Almost every one there had something to gain when they sell you their stuffs. But not him.

He didnt seem very concerned about monetary gains. How do i know this? He offered me CHOICES to which i could solve my problem -- most of which (to my surprise) didnt quite bend towards his favor, but he offered them anyway. He suggested me to buy a HDD from next door and he'll fix it for me -- FOC, among other things.

On the day of collection, he sat me through and explained step by step how to move on from there. I am amazed at his sincerity and kindness. I cant say the same if others would also get the same treatment i have, but he is a nice guy.

NO regrets, definitely highly recommended for anyone who has to get their computer fixed. Viruses. Backup data. Reformatting. Go see for yourself.

Now, just WHAT does the title mean? Is it even a word in English?

Well, you wont find THAT in the dictionary. It, with alot of other words as you will see below, are some of the newly coined words/terms created by Adam Lambert fans in his honour.

Adam Labert is the new American Idol!!!

Hey guys, finally got time to stretch and unwind today. Most of everything went according to plan, except for me mispronouncing a few speaker's name at event today. T_T
Eu-Ween became Eugene..

Sui-Jin Foong became Siu-Jin Foong
(i must have been thinking of Seremban SIU pau. @_@)

better still, duno why, at one point, i actually said JIN FOONG! @#%$^%&*^%$#!!!
Ditegur oleh boss besar client. Haih. Anyhow, still a learing experience. After a few sorries and kowtows here and there, everything settled. LOL

Got home and decided to watch some TV. I say it as such because watching TV has been a luxury for me of late, not particularly because i'm busy, but because my house TV is cranky and we can never get clear reception, despite staying on the 5th floor. Sheesh!

So i when flipped the channels, guess what i saw? AMERICAN IDOL!! woohoo!! Being deprived of TV also meant naturally alienating myself from all forms of TV related entertainment news, including when is American Idol shown and that its already the finals!! LOL

At first i just wanted to watch a bit. Ended up being glued to the TV until the end... haha. And it wasn't a waste too. I laughed so hard at the Golden Idol Award recipients but i was also starstruck at the brilliance of the producers of the live telecast to creatively add some twists in the show to spice it up as well. Like WOW! =P

And when Ryan Seacrest announced the winner of American Idol 2009, i was so the happy!!

ADAM LAMBERT
IS THE NEW AMERICAN IDOL

YAY!!!

Yeah yeah... i know... The real winner is Kris Allen. This guy here:

Im NOT ignorant okay... =P

Just that i feel that Adam Lambert has so much more to offer compared to Kris Allen. I believe that both are excellent individuals which have their very own uniqueness, but Adam just tops the list between the two. I just love the way Adam adds twists in his performances and never fails to surprise every time! Reminds me of David Cook in the prev Idol. =D

Nevertheless, looking at the real results, i have a hunch (hey, don't sue me, its just a hunch!!) that the voters were a tad skewed. Was it because Adam is a homosexual that he didn't win? Because if you remember, just weeks before the grand finale, pictures of Adam Lambert in "suggestive poses" was discovered on the Internet and everything just practically went blazing form there.

And when i was browsing the web to read more about their win yesterday, i came upon this:
But the point is, should any of this even matter? Will America--or at least the folks who call in and vote on these things--crown an "Idol" champion who is perceived as gay?

One thing is certain, "Idol" has a dubious history of handling gay matters. It began in the first season when out finalist Jim Verraros was asked to remove content from his "Idol" web page that identified him as gay. Season two brought us the aforementioned Aiken who spent years denying his sexuality until he finally chose to come out long after everyone stopped caring. In the fourth season, Anwar Robinson was voted out the week after news broke that he had been looking for a male hookup online. A similar fate befell David Hernandez last year after everyone found out he used to work in a gay bar. And every season of "American Idol" has featured inane banter between host Ryan Seacrest and judge Simon Cowell where one of these men insults the other by inferring he's gay.

Don't believe, read here lah! =D

Giving America the benefit of doubt, i hope that not the case la. =)

On a lighter note, i am amazed at how Adam Lambert works his charisma and boyish looks, however seeming inappropriate at times with black nail polish and eye liners, etc. There's just something about him that makes people go WAAA! He is what i call a versatile artist who can do almost anything on stage!

Kris, like David Arch, however, appears as a good looking eye candy with a superb voice, but not necessarily as a versatile artiste. =D

And to give you a measure of how powerful Adam Lambert's voice is, please please please, you HAVE TO watch this video below. IT WILL BLOW YOU AWAY.
(my recomendations have always been right. trust me. :-D)

Simply mesmerizing, no? =D

I think he's the only one who actually sounds good when in "screaming" mode. He's also kinda cute. LOL

Adam Lambert = High notes redefined. =D

FYI, i found this video yesterday from a MySpace Fan Page for Adam Lambert.

This one also fantastic performance by Adam! The Prayer.

Such a powerful voice, and being versatile to performs as emo-rocker-boy-with-Goth eyerliners-and black nail polish, and sing like sopranos in a clean-Elvis-look! WAAAAAAA!!!

So that's why i think ADAM LAMBERT is the new American Idol!! Haha..

But then again, that's just me... XD XD XD

...

ps. thnx for taking time to read! and sorry if you felt mislead, at least got superb videos to watch =P

Busy.

Busy is probably the most overrated but also the most used understatement for the President, the Prime Minister, and even Boy Wonder -- me.

The whole of last week i have had the privilage to relive my school days. Yeaps, those dreadful mornings where i need a forklift to get me out of bed and a crane to drag me into the shower. I went through them, for an entire week. I failed to reach school on time a couple of time, but nevertheless, i made it. =P

I went back to school to assist Pn. Cheng, my Sixth Form supervisor with the new intake of Lower Six students. I also had Gerald and Chi Chung, bothmy form six juniors, to facilitate with me, side by side. Not only did i entertain manage the students in between period intervals, i also taught them how to sing our SEVEN glorious school songs! Ryan, also a former form sixt student, currently a temp teacher in St. John's, was my partner in crime. He looks like Josh Groban, and he even sings like him too! =D

Anyway, that was a physically draining week, but it was worth the wild cause i felt like i went back in time!! The shcool, the teachers, the ambience.. WOW!

Weekends, had kendo in school in the morning (need to work out, busy with work for the last 3 weeks somewhat made me lembik... T_T) and and spent the afternoon with dear Bro. Lawrence in the Little Sisters of the Poor. Accompanied him with Markus until the van came to fetch him to his very own party!! It was Teacher's Day and the Catholic Teachers Association (i think, or something like that) threw a party for him after mass in a church near Assunta. =)

Not to mention a splendid paintball reunion with the team on Sunday afternoon. It was our 1st trsining in weeks, and boy, was that a training to remember!! More on "paintball with pros" later.

...

This week will be equally as packed, i think. I'll bw working events today, Tuesday, and Friday -- all different location in KL. I may have to swing by to see Bro. Lawrence on Wed to visit and teach him how to use a Nokia mobile phone. (he's 93 years old, btw.. huhuh)

Perhaps a visit to KL Sentral to settle errands on my TnG card. Oh yes, defintely back to school on Thursday afternoon to help assist my fellow prefects in a training session. Friday evening, expect to cruise up to KLIA with grand auty to fetch aunty. huhu

Can't wait to find time to breathe and tell you guys about more stuff related to my Kelantan and Terengganu trip, carefully and diligently disect and review Angels and Demons, Paintballing with Pros, and what happens when i attempt to ignore a letter from the government...

Stay tuned.. i promise it will be worth your wild! =D

Have a productive week ahead peeps... Ole!!

Kelantan Trivia... again and again

Did you know...

#1. That in Kelantan, one of the most popular past time of majority of local folks is karaoke. On the 1st night during Amir the Raja Lawak's show, we uncovered a hidden talent from among the locals. While Amir was entertaining the crowd, all of a sudden a pak cik came on stage requesting to sing a song, which i didn't catch. Anyone who know, do tell yesh?! =D

This uncle has a wonderful voice. I was stunned when he sang. And the crowd cheered him on like a superstar! XD

Sampai dapat sekuntum bunga daripada fansee lor.. XD

#2. Food here is packages quite differently than in KL. It's not necessarily a bad thing, but being a city kid, its refreshing to see new and innovative stuff where you least expect to =)

Like the above was taken a famous restaurant, which is well known for its ayam percik in Kelantan. Sorry, duno name of street, but i remember the shop sign (papan tanda) was GREEN. LOL

I really have not seen peopel sell ondeh ondeh and kuih muih in KL in half buger polistrine* containers, wrapped with food wrap! Creative eh? And not to mention clean, easy to buy and fast to eat. =P

One down side: Its polistrine* and food wrap. =S

Another thing is how they display and sell durian there. I snapped this at a warung tepi jalan, a fruit stall by the roadside.

Have you ever seen durian sellers cut open the King of Fruit, arrange the insides presentable, and food wrap it for display?!

I mean, if cant or dont sell, how? Bukankah rugi berniaga begitu? (wouldnt it be unprofitable to do business that way?)

Nevertheless, it was like "Waaaaaa!!" for budak bandar like me. LOL
Durians displayed on thin polistrine*, wrapped in food wrap in Jaya Jusco, ive seen lah. =P

#3. It jams like hell in KB -- just like in KL. But i think the gridlock here is more dashyat!! See lah.

Day

Night

And the folks there STILL berpusu-pusu to the event. S.C.A.R.Y. =S

#4. When it rains, the winds are so strong, it can uplift a tent! @_@

...

ps. more to come, stay tuned yahz... XD

pps. sorry lah, i cant spell the freaking
polistrine*and its very late and im freaking lazy to check it out! Smarty pants out there, correct me pls! >.<

Angels and Demons Premier

I just got back from the premiere of Ron Howard's so-called controversial movie: Angels and Demons; the sequel to The DaVinci Code, an screen adaptation from Dan Brown's best seller. I read the book (well, the PDF version of it, actually...) and had high expectations about it.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

And all throughout my drive home, i thought long and hard about how to blog about this movie. So here goes:
SUPERB MOVIE

(that's all for now... stay tuned for the overall coverage and juicy oddities i discovered in the movie)

Kelantan Trivia... again

Did you know...

#1. People in Kelantan generally are more receptive and smile back when you smile at them. As long as we start the ball rolling, the Kelantanese have no problem taking the ball a mile further. =)

#2. That 1 ringgit in Kelantan is se riyal, like Riyal in Saudi Arabia. Apparently, the state government -- who happens to emulate the administration in the Holy City of Mecca -- rules that everyone must observe prayer time in the state, and as such, must refrain from conducting ANY business transaction during prayer time as a mark of respect for Islam.

That, throughout my stay in Kelantan, is the hardest ruling yet for the government to enforce; everyone just buys and sells, regardless of time -- its all about the money bebeh!! XD

#3. That almost everything at the clothing section in KB Mall, the closest mall to where i was, is themed GREEN!! I was looking for some Pagoda singlets for Pak Cik and i found myself strolling around the mall. Now I wonder if its because of the ruling PArty'S influence. LOL

Just the red shirt there kacau! LOL

See? I told you all green green right? XD

TADA!!! Underware section oso the same thing!! Told ya! XP

And... And... this picture so coincident!

So happened in this picture that i snapped and MMS-ed over to my boss, to show him the stall sign idea, all green green pulak. Even Pak Cik's PETRONAS t-shirt oso green! LOL

Green makes the world go round in Kelantan!

ps. sorry just abit now, late ady. sleepy (>.<) more to come yeah.. look out for it.. XD

pps. sorry smaller images. ImageShack slow loading and the formatting for this post like sheet la. T_T

Here's to you, Mummy Dearest, though you have gone before us to a better place, you are forever held dear in our hearts and our memories...
It feels like it was only yesterday when you were still here with us, sharing laughter and joy with the family... ( ;,,,S )

And until that day when we meet again, we miss you loads Mummy! XD

From the 3 M's
(Michael, Marcus, Michele) and some say Ming
LOL

ps. for those of you reading this who still has a surviving mother, do take very good care of her. Don't waste your chance to be faithful to your mother while you still can. Regret changes nothing.

Scared.

I interrupt my usual blogging posts with this important announcement.

I AM NOW AFRAID OF LIVING IN MALAYSIA.

In the recent scuffle which unprecedentedly took place in the Legislative House in Perak on Thursday, many have seen the other side of Malaysia. I only got to read up about it later that day but when i did, what i saw rendered me speechless.

State elected reps from both sides shouting at each other, as if the one who can shout louder will win the argument? Speakers being literally yanked off his seat by plainclothes policemen? Federal Field Reserve Unit (FRU) and police personnel arresting state goverment EXCOs, public patronizing a mamak stall, and even old unlces with walking sticks?

Honestly, i don't know what is going on anymore.

Don't get me wrong; i'm not saying that the police can't do their job -- they can, but its a crappy job anyway. Watch the video below, and you will see what i see; feel what i feel...

Video aptly titled: Arrest Galore at SUK

The thing that bugs me the most is when the FRU and police stormed the mamak stall shouting "Keluar Keluar.. Tangkap!! Gari Gari!!" and how they went after the people outside of the police line while shouting, "Tangkap!! Tangkap!!!" .... like what? The people there are some kinda of game? Are they out on a hunting trip -- who ever catches someone, wins? Gosh

The situation is appalling. And to know that this is broadcasted to the whole world, i don't know where to put my face anymore. T_T

Come to think of it, should there be any misfortune *touch wood*, that if what happened in Perak on Thursday would also happen in KL and the Klang Valley, what should we do?

How do we fend for ourselves when a strong and mightier force comes charging our way and cuffing us as we civilians are tossed into the back of police trucks? Even thinking about it oso scared. How come society came to this stage?

Has all these years of independence taught us NOTHING? Or has it opened away for the rich to be come richer, the poor, poorer? Has the strong become so mighty that they can force their strength onto the weak?

When our laws and security forces -- the very force that are supposed to keep us safe -- are turned against us? What then? Mimic a Hollywood action movie and win a heroic end? I think not.

In these trying times, the WISE-est thing to do is to SEEK GOD AND PRAY that He have mercy on us, and on our enemies, whom ever they may be.

God help us all.
