PB#5: MY NPL 09 - Day 3 - Sweet 16

The final day - Day 3 - of the tourney began rather positively, i would say. Despite the playing 6 matches yesterday and ending up with muscle pulls here and there, i still managed to arrive at ASTAKA before dawn. Kudos to the NOT morning person, me!! LOL

Sempat pulak i went for a brisk walk around the field. :-)

Then went camho-ing around the area.

Sponsors. :-D

Then i saw this:

Dam hardworking sia the staffs at MAPAAC. Apparently, En. Sofian and geng spent the night there. See? Some even slept at the equipment tent know!! :-D

Everyone else got there about 7.30am onwards. But En. Sofian was already making announcements that D3 and D4 teams are not allowed to enter the players paddock and fill up their markers with air just yet. They had to give way to the D1 and D2 teams to get ready for their matches first. So i lugged all my stuff and the 6 plus pods full of pallets out to the registration area. So excited sumore that morning. T_T

So since we were 'kicked out', we had to wait almost 2 hours for our turn at the field. En. Sofian kept announcing between intervals, "Pasukan-pasukan D4 hanya boleg dibenarkan masuk ke kawasan players paddock seawal-awal jam 9.30 pagi. Game pertama anda dijadualkan berlangsung seawal-awalnya jam 10.00 pagi." And that's seawal-awal (the earliest..) you know..

So we did the only doable thing: we strategized with Simon. :-)

He shared some tips with us and suggested that we play abit more offensive this round -- after all, its just two IF we don't advance. haha. I also remember him saying quite distinctively, before going into the players' paddock to suit up, "Make sure you shoot as if pallets are free in the field today..." @_@ Haha. But we were planning to go all out today, anyway. :-)

Then i suddenly had the urge to put out a fire. So i rushed to utilize the nearest ONE of the two box loos mobile toilets to the entrance. Like if i went into the other one, there would be any difference at all.. lol

These things smells quite nice know.. like fresh flowers.. no joke. haha

And after doing my 'small' business, i was so urged to take this photo of the sticker sign inside the mobile toilet. I couldn't stop giggling while i put out the fire.

Ayo. What hole could anyone possible make in that tiny 4 by 4 plastic cubicle? Any brilliant guesses, anyone? Leave a comment. Most creative/make-sense answer wins a prize. :-D

We quickly made our way into our tent (the same one yesterday) and got ready. We put our kicked out time waiting time to good use; a good, solid 15 mins of warm up. We were sweating like dogs really sweaty people. :-)

This was yesterday, but it was similar. :-)

This was yesterday, too. But see how impoartant having a bunch of banans are. :-P

SWEET 16 MEANS YOU'RE STILL IN THE GAME...

The system is: 1st vs 16th, 2nd vs 15th, 3rd vs 14th, 4th vs 13th, and you get the point.

We were going up against Team Infidelz. Wooo.. a name not to be reckoned with man. Duno lar.. that name gives me the creepies and reminds me of a movie character - one that is kinda cerazy gila-gila wan, but is STILL a force to be reckoned with!! Haha.. Hector Cannibal?? Hm, nope. Dark Knight's Joker? DEFINITELY. Wootz!!

Anyway, despite all efforts to locate them at the players paddock to identify them, we only managed to meet them moments before entering the field. They seems pretty okay lah at first. Oh, how wrong were we. In paintball, there are TWO VERY IMPORTANT THINGS:

#1. Never let pride get to you. Over confidence is your biggest enemy.

#2. Never (and i really mean NEVER) judge a team by its people. Or dressing. Or name. Or what ever. Just don't judge. A prejudgement leads to over confidence, so please refer to #1.

Therefore, to simplify a long and overrated story, weaved with personal anguish and rage, we lost both games to Team Infidelz. My only regret is our not-so-good (yet) communication and team player's commitment and alertness towards the very game we're passionate about: PAINTBALL.

After the second game, we held our heads high and packed up as there were other teams coming into the players' paddock. We bid good bye to our fellow Marksman and wished them all the very best! We know they will make it big! XD
With heavy hearts, we left the players' paddock. Haha. But we still lingered around as everyone, deep inside, still had this itch to shoot more paintballs! :-P

Din and EVo trying out their bargaining skills. But looks like Din is checking out something else. :-P

And just like that, our MY NPL experience came to an end. It was so fast, we almost forgot how and when i began. LOL. Well, one thing's for sure, paintball has gotten us - a CEO, a few 20-odd-year-olds, AND a veteran blogger - all excited and pumped up about living life to the full and enjoying our new found passion: PAINTBALL!!

If paintball can excited us to levels never felt before, and made us feel like a team, a family, and a raging machine to win in this competitive sport, then YOU SHOULD TRY IT TOO!! Contact's at the end of this post. :-)

Team YAKUZA is here to stay!! And our motto "WE PLAY TO WIN. FUN TAGS ALONG!!" will resound once again in the up coming tourneys!! BANZAI!! BANZAI!! BANZAI!!

THE GRAND RESULTS...

nice post. did not realise you have "camera eye" because did not remember you carry around your camera. This posting is interesting because of the pictures. Salute you la for the interesting post. Banzai! x3

That park your car and leave the handbrake down: I had similar experience at Pink Hotel (if I am not mistaken)in Haadyai. The car park attendant adviice us to double park and leave the handbrake free. Tru that the car parked at one end ended up at the other end.

You beat me to that notice inside the movable loo. I saw that notice and thought can write something about it. Unfortunately my camera is with auntie.
