to Hell and back!

Hey guys, i came upon this site which tells a living testimony of Sister Bernarda Fernandez about her life changing experience with God.
If you are not comfortable by exposure to Christian related stuff, i strongly advise you to skip this post.

I'm posting it it because it is meaningful to Christians and to those who want to seek the God. Read on of you're game for a eye opening experience.

The text you are about to read, is the first part of the testimony of sister Bernarda Fernandez, who was privileged to be taken by Jesus Christ to visit the next world.

THIS IS THE TESTIMONY OF MY FIRST JOURNEY

As I was not feeling well that morning, my husband refused to leave me on my own and go to work. I told him that I was not alone. After he left, I felt that I was dying. So I decided to phone some of my friends, and my mother-in-law. My mother-in-law answered: "Bernarda, God will bless you today, do not be afraid". The same answer came from another brother in Christ that I phoned, but he added: "Bernarda get up from your bed and praise the Lord, cry to Him and glorify Him".

So, in spite of my lack of strength I cried to the Lord saying: "Lord You are my strength, come and help me". I tried to stand up, but my strength left me. My voice could no longer be heard but in my soul I was crying to the Lord to help me since I was dying. Suddenly my room was lit up of a light which looked like a fire. Immediately my fear vanished and I saw angels descending and walking in my room. I could hear them clearly speaking to each other, and suddenly a marvelous being appeared, more marvelous than angels. He was dressed in White with a golden sash. On His chest was written in gold: "FAITHFUL AND TRUE". His face was showing gentleness and Love. Jesus the CHRIST was in front of me, the King of kings and the Lord of lords. Blessed be His name!

Jesus approached me, touched my head and told me: "I am Jesus who died for you. Look at these marks in my hands, they are still there for you. I came down from my throne of glory to speak to you; there are many things in your life to put right. You are lazy and quick-tempered. Moreover, I do not want 25% Christian nor 95%, but 100%. If you want to go to heaven, you have to be holy as I myself am holy; I came to take you for a journey".

I asked Him: "Lord is it a missionary journey?" He answered "No". Then He took me by my hands and lifted me up, and talked to me with simplicity and Love. He brought me as far as my windows, He looked at the city of New-York and I saw sadness on His face. He wept and said: "My Word is well preached, but people do not listen. The sin of this city has reached My Father".

house prayer

Its 9.11.07, exactly one month since Mummy returned to glory. Dad felt it was a proper time to have a house prayer and we invited servants of God and close church believers to our home. It was the first time we ever had people over for prayer! Mich and i instantly got to work to tidy up the house once we knew people were coming. Its good motivation for housekeeping, I'd always say. Haha.

And Daddy ordered my Uncle Georgie's Mee Siam, Sambal Sotong, and Rendang Chicken - all the way from his home in Bandar Sungai Long. Woohoo... must be good stuff (and in fact, it is.. very rich in santan!).

and so the day came, and we managed to get everything spic and span. And oh, Mich and i joined forces to make dessert - Honeydew sago. Woohoo. It was grreeat! probably the best i ever made.. ahaha.. God's grace.. its God's grace.. =)

Past Matthew and the other servants of God arrived about 7 pm. Then people stated arriving as well, shortly after prayers begun. The night was a memorable one. Here it is in pictures =)

I thought of this at the very last minute; instant solution for a little privacy. lolx

the house, now a prayer hall. // huhu Praise the Lord!

jam-packed: the kitchen. // too many cook sure can't spoil THIS dish.. lolx

makan time

mingle mingle; but no one going for the food yet.. haha.

after a night's work. fuh.

All went well. Food was good, dessert was better, and the company was the best. Everyone had a seemingly good time. Even the Sisters were enjoying themselves in the kitchen, well, kinda. LoLx.

Oh, Uncle Dawson's family stayed on till later for some chit chat.. which was very nice of them, considering they live in Sg. Buloh. Aunty Girlie and Rebecca are great to talk with! Cleaning up was part of the fun too... Can't wait for the next house prayer. =)

Deepavali with Dato' L. Krishnan

Deepavali Vartukal everyone.. Today's Deepavali, the Festival of Lights. And i decided to brighten up some special folk's lives in a Deepavali-cum-Birthday party/event held in St. John's Institution - my alma mater.

This is a custom for dear ol' Dato' L, as he is fondly called.
He does this every other year to bring cheer and joy to the lives of the less fortunate. During my years in school when i used to help out through the Interact Club, Dato' L would invite close to 800 people from orphanages, old folk's homes, and even the handicapped including the blind, the deaf, and the physically challenged. This year, the guest list totaled almost 1500 people, mostly comprising of children from orphanages in and around the city.

The drill was simple: arrive early, put a big bright smile, and put your best foot forward and brace yourself for whats to come! haha. it was like that, and it still is! I was joined by my dear senior Markus, a close friend of Dato' L too. We helped out in the back ground with fellow juniors from the Interact Club - most of whom we knew.

The MC from the Malaysian Association for the Blind (MAB) started off the event, well, in my opinion, quite monotonous, as if its a boring dinner event. I thought a more lively and energetic opening would be better. But never mind. Here it was in pictures:

(as you may have noticed, the pictures are courtesy of our very own Miss Malaysia (or Universe, not sure.. haha), Ms Goh Naih Sing. I was too busy hustling and bustling to snap away. lolx)

my school's concourse area // Dato' L on stage saying hello.

Dato' L feeding (or rather smoldering) a kiddo with cake. He does this every other year. Poor kids. Haha. Behind him is his new Datin, and the three beauties in the middle are the Miss Universes who were invited to the event.

the beauties and the workers. ( i was taking the picture-lah T.T)

Yea, as you may have read, Ms Universes were invited to the event to give out goodies and mingle with the guests. Gosh, we didn't have these during our days!! LoLx. But ok la, they provided us somthing to look at when we're not busy pushing wheel chairs or distributing food and goodies. Ahucks!

Perhaps the most trying (and most feared) time during the event was the distribution of food and drinks, as well as 'ang pau' collection from Dato' just before the end of the event. Whoa.. i tell you, you've got to be on your ties when your serving the guests, cause if not, they will murmur, get impatient, and even scold you if they don't get their share of food. huhu. Kids are tolerable la, but when it comes to senior citizens, the experience really tests your patience. But its all good. =p

And cleaning up. That one also killer. Haha. But i did as much as i could, and cabut-ed early as i had to get lunch for Mich. That was my Deepavali 07.

However, i must say, a little teeny weeny bit more detail and attention, if given to the overall planning of the event, would probably make it even more successful - and interesting - than it actually is. Hopefully, i get to play a part in planing next year around.. we'll see...
